The ideal plan...

If I was a rich mother-fucker I would buy a '90 Z32 TT 2+2 in Japan and have every desireable part installed for 700rwHP and have it tuned professionally then have the beast shipped over. I'd also have Z32 Super NA with 400rwHP and another Z32 with a 1000rwHP RB26DETT...

But let's get real... I make $15/hr, I have bills and rent to pay. I'm not rich. I want to swap in a TT in the 2+2 which IMO is worth it. But what a hassle... right, Jason? Ideally I want more than one Z32. But if I swap in the TT in my current Z... that wouldn't make much since. Buy an NA? For what? I have had an NA for nearly three years. A TT coupe? Then have two TT's? My mod finger is getting itchy... buy NA mods? But that would be a waste of $$ since I'm doing the TT swap in about two years or so. Hold out for the TT swap? I want to install all mods before hand... so you can imagine why the whole swap is gonna take me two years. Or should I just mod the NA I have and then buy a TT coupe in a few years????????????? I know: I'm so fucking indecisive. Go ahead and flame away, broke-as****. I've been secretly looking around for TT's and I have found a few around $5K... sure they got a few miles. I know broke is gonna be: I told you already! Buy a TT instead of that damn swap. I guess the ideal plan would be to have two kick-ass Z32's... one NA and the other TT. I need a lil' feed-back. what do you guys think? I even contemplated selling the Z and buying an older WRX just 'cus I get sick of not doing anything with my Z and I need something faster... NOW! Please help....

Buy a bike.

Porvided you live through it, should be more than interesting enough.

I was also going to suggest a 240 with a SR swap because I've driven one of those (putting down ~290rwhp no less) and that was a fun ride.

Then I remembered you live in the land of the fourth reich...so never mind.

Re: The ideal plan...

a 240 with an sr20det swap costs about what? 2 grand for the car (with over 100K in miles) and about 5 grand or more for the swap...? Right there you're already looking at a TT z with lower miles (on the chassis that is, among other things as well), I say hold out for the z, and besides it looks better than a 240... but if you want more of a "sleeper" than go for the 240 with a swap... that's my opinoin, but good luck with w.e. u choose!

Re: The ideal plan...

I'm not interested in a 240sx at all at this point... just trying to figure out what to do.

If you can get a sub-100k mile Twin Turbo Z in any kind of good condition for $7000 or less we really need to find out where you are buying cars. Do they exist? Yeah but odds are it's got something wrong with it. And as we have found out, you do not want to get into repairing sports cars.

Anyway, provided you can do the work yourself, you can put together a turbo kit for the stock KA motor that will put out as much or even more than the SR will. Price on that? As low as $1500. If you can get a 240 will sub 100k miles for a few grand and drop a turbo in it, run 10psi or so, should get you up around 300rwhp. If the engine has a lot of miles on it? Hell buy another engine. There is a million of them around, they were used in just about everything for a while. 60k on a KA is nothing, mine has had a very unforgiving 210,000 put on it and it's still running pretty decent. Wouldn't put a turbo on it at this point but a rebuild wouldn't cost me as much as the VG did.

Long story short I come back to my original point:

You want to go fast for cheap, you can't beat a bike.

well George...

i am telling you right now, if i could rewind time. i would definitely trade in my N/A and spend the money on a TT. let me give you soem ballpark figures.

for a complete TT swap with transmission and everything left stock. looks to spend close to $4000. really depends on what needs replaced on the TT motor after it was shipped or what damage is done to it while it was in japan. $4000+$4000 for trade-in on your N/A...you have to chip in an extra $4k or $5K for a low miles immaculate TT. this is what i would have done but i also never predicted i would be able to afford to take out a loan on a car this soon in life. when i first started the swap i was working in a pizza parlor making about $350 every 2 weeks. now that i know several months later i would have received a much better paying job, i really wouldnt have gone through that hastle of swapping in a TT. i would have rather bought one. forked out about a couple hundred bucks a month on a car payment and the rest on upgrades and what not. this seems to be the much better plan as you can upgrade when the time presents itself and you still have a beast of a car that not much on the road is going to mess around with.

if you want a TT that damn bad...get rid of the N/A and trade it in on a TT. there is no point of having 2 Z32's unless you can completely afford it and it doesnt seem like right now you could afford 2 Z's.

trade in the N/A and put some snow tires on teh stockers and get some new tires on the Advan's. when winter comes around and you get that measly couple weeks of bad weather, you will be prepared.

Re: The ideal plan...

Having two Z32's is my ultimate goal though... thanks for the pep-talk, Jason. Like I mentioned... I think I'm just going to buy a TT in about a year or so and keep my 2+2 as the DD. There! It's final!

sounds like a plan...

if you are financially stable enough to have 2 Z32's and pay the insurance and what not then be my guest. i personally dont see the point because i want one thing from my Z and thats what i would build both of them into. the only way i could see it for me is if i decide to take after Hodo and turn this N/A engine in my garage into a Supercharged Z32. even then i could never see myself getting another Z32 when there are so many other cars out there. FD3S for one example!!!

Re: The ideal plan...

you're all a bunch of post-whores!!!! the lot of ya!!!! j/k , well IMO, I know it's not the easiest thing to do, but If I were in your situation, I'd sell my N/A and get a TT, and pick up an older civic for DD, but I dunno man... I dunno if I could part with my Z myself, so I mean the choice is yours, good luck with what you do tho...
