engine leaning out
How would you keep the engine from leaning out as the temperature raises in my 93 shadow, with an 89 caravan engine in?

Re: engine leaning out
you can change your oxygen sensor, that's most pratical. A used car salesman's trick is to jump the throttle body temp sensor and make it run rich, but I'd go with the oxygen sensor first before you start fooling the computer with faulty signals.

Re: engine leaning out
you are correct, have the programming checked out or better yet just disconnect the oxygen sensor, the computer will go into "limp mode" that is, it'll go into constant open loop thus giving you a rich condition at all times.

Re: Re: engine leaning out
I have already tried it without the oxygen sensor plugged in, and it still runs lean. Now, the water temp sensor (the one that plugs into the gooseneck) I plugged that hole and have the sensor hanging in a cool place, trying to trick the computer to giving it more gas. I dont care about unplugging sensors either, as long as it still runs.

Re: engine leaning out
you could unplug your MAP sensor as well and send it into limp mode. It's not the best but it's a 50/50 shot, disconnect your TPS, it'll run rich then, though the downside is that it might stumble and run like crap.
