moving...more of my film art

so...we're moving to a new home...well it's not new but it is new to us. We're buying and it's cool. So naturally I made a trailer for the full length family film to come.

http://www.58vw.com/moving.html

since then I have shot in excess of 100 clips to string together.

here's a short clip from the "Getting Ready" scene

http://www.58vw.com/serious.html

it is mostly for family so it's not gonna be all intense and what not...it's a much better alternative to the traditional "family slide show".

Here's a great scene saying farewell to a couple significant friends. Note this is completely art related plus you have to see my son at the end...lololol:

Here is me learning to fill cement holes:

and finally here's a quick look at the wood laminate flooring going in

In the end it looks like it may be about a 40 minute film which is cool. The challenege will be to not over "effect" it and maintain a good flow. Since there isn't a true story to go by I'll attempt to entertain and educate.

In my world even something as horrific as moving has some happy moments. I try to emphasis the "good" for my kids and teach them how to do everything I do so they can have something to "fall back on". My son appears to be headed for a career behind the camera...unless he gets that dance down. lol

enjoy

p.s. It's all filmed on my Fuji 5100 digital camera and then edited in Vegas Video. I use the Sorenson Squeeze codec to produce my flv files and that's about it.

those are neat! what a great idea.

moving sucks, no doubt. you made it fun at least to watch someone else do it.

i like your choice of audio tracks as well.

I got about 15 more to produce then make the DVD.

The new home is fantastic...there's a great sense of piece when you know it's yours.

Re: moving...more of my film art

yes, i forgot to say how happy i am for you. congratulations.
i, too, am a home-owner. to say 'goodbye' to renting is one of life's nice little passages into another chapter. you have your own place. and you are king.

and, in a sense, you are paying yourself to live there as opposed to somebody else. you will accumulate equity that you will be able to use as leverage for future purchases.

often, a re-fi, as well, will put you into a better loan arrangement. so you have that to look forward to.

i love waking up, going pee, going to the kitchen, making coffee, smelling it, making toast, reading the paper, and it is all mine.

i can go out to the garage, make a project, and get back to it later, and it is mine.

i have nobody living above or below me, so i can make foot traffic noises and it does not matter. i can work on the car in the driveway without being bothered. i can have a house party and get drunk in my own house. and plop into bed. and the hangover is all mine.

enjoy, my bretheren mastah.
