Problem with wheel and air conditioner, any suggestions??

I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier Rally Sport with 2 problems. First, the big one in my eyes, the front left wheel (i think) clicks when I hit the break or my car starts to slow down. It has to be going pretty slow for it to click and my father thinks it could be wheel barings? The second thing, the a/c, when I first got the car it work, now it does'nt. It has been re-charged a few times and still isn't working. Another thing, the green light for A/C lights up whenever I turn the defrosters/heat on? Not sure why, any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

You may need new brake pads on the front. The pads have a metal tang that rubs against the rotor when the pads wear out. Check your pads, If they're worn, you'll hear squealing every time you use the brakes.

Your AC might have a major leak. Search this site for AC questions, if you like to tinker, you'll probably come across similar problems.
The AC light always comes on when you activate the defrosters, or turn the AC switch to Max (The fan blade shape on the dash panel, the first selection for the climate knob).
