Im building a NASCAR stockcar. Need help applying decals.

I just started working on a model of Dale Jr.'s stock car and I need to know the proper way to apply the decals because there are so many. Usually I would just paint the car and clearcoat it then put on the decals but I am building this model for my brother so I want it to be right and I dont want the decals to come off everytime you pick up the car.
So I was wondering do I need to use decal setter? Do I need to spray the basecoat on the car, then apply the decals, then spray the clearcoat? And what clearcoat, decal setter, etc. do I need?

Thanks for the help!

to put them on the right order just follow the instructions. the Contingency decals go on last. and any graphics that go under the numbers go on first., always have a pic of the real car also to see how it really looks.

i clear all my nascars before and afterwards also with dupli-color clear.

decal setter i use if a decal wont go around a curve. micro-sol works for this.
