Car won't start-carwash??

I just returned from a drive thru car wash and after it was done, the guys could not get my 01 grand am to start. They popped the hood and "jumped" it with a portable battery. It started up again just now after I turned off (after a 10 min drive), but I am concerned something went wrong....did this ever happen to anyone else? Also it's a 2001 with about 55k on it--when do you think I need a new battery....thanks!

If you have the original battery I would change it now. The battery terminals may also be corroded and need to be cleaned. Also check the grounds to the block as the water may have interfered with the connection.

If there is a leak it may have had problems after a car wash. Mine is in the shop now with a firewall leak. After a heavy rain it would turn on but then shut off immediately.

As far as the battery, it's worth checking into. Most places can test it for free.
