how fast do you ride in suburbia?

A mate of mine who's a cop recently attended a fatal bike accident. details were:

22 year old male, unlicenced on a GSXR 1000 (year model unknown as not enough left to tell) was travelling with a mate (bike unknown) down a twin lane divided road in suburbia. over a crest was a Holden Statesman (one of our larger upmarket local sedans) turning right across the bikes path.

if the bike was doing near the speed limit things would have been fine. as he was doing an estimated 3 times the limit he laid the bike down in an attempt to avoid the car. the impact somehow tore his helmet off and his riding buddy rode over his head and effectively squashed his head and ground it into the pavement. instant death

my mate just said how sick he was to see how much brain matter was on the road. i didn't want to know any more and therefore have no idea how the second rider come out of it.

worse thing is how emotionally sick the driver is now to have "caused" this accident even though they were not at fault.

sometimes we are at fault and cagers can be the innocents.

at suburbia, I only go 10 above the limit if traffic is moving, 20 if there's a curve with less traffic around.

was this guy really going 3 times the limit... very sad. because there are people who luckily made it out even after t-boning a car.

Re: how fast do you ride in suburbia?

I don't ride in town. The only place I ride is in the mountains or on the track. I've already been taken out by an idiot driver once, i'd like to avoid having it happen again. If I do end up in town, I ride pretty much at the speed limit.

hey, if you're high, there are better ways to take advantage of the situation.

but then again, you're probably sedated all the time when considering putting chevy motor on Ford.

so it's all the same for you.

not trying to make it offensive, because this really is a nice board, but it's waste time for me to check every topic just to find spam like other sites. I enjoy reading stuff about bikes.

yes, but the difference is it's an inside joke, and we're actually funny... sometimes. and mostly it is related to bikes, plus we have seniority. and we keep it within 1 or 2 threads.

but we don't prance around on threads repetitively typing.... I RuN NAWWWWSSSS. And I don't open up an ego thread like "does anyone like me yet?"

If NAWWWSSS is a trademark of an inside joke, I'll back off.
