Completed: C6 FRC Corvette

This was a quick build for me. very little detail. I applied a wash to the lug nuts on the wheels. I glued the roof in place and molded it in to simulate a FRC (fixed roof coupe) Corvette. I originally wanted the factory colored gray wheels instead of the chrome. However, when I went to pick up a cat, I saw a black C6 with the chrome wheels and that made up my mind. It looked AWESOME. There were a couple issues I ran into. making the window masks, I messed up and scarred the front glass, and the body seems a little warped, like the front is sticking too far in the air, almost curved upward, as well as the exhaust didn't want to sit right in the rear where the mufflers mate to the main chassis causing the tips to sit kind of crooked. These are initial completed shots. Some of the clear glue has yet to set. I'll take some more later on, I just wanted to get this one up. Let me know what you think C&C welcome and encouraged!

Re: Completed: C6 FRC Corvette

looks great. is the engine textured? looks like it. the exhaust(s) looks kinda messed up, like crooked or something.

Looks great! I agree with you. Black looks killer on these cars!
I am actually working on a Black one, and was using Universal Black as well. Did you happen to see my post in the main forum about this kit and how it reacted to the paint? What kind of primer did you use? Did you have any issues with the paint reacting to the plastic?

Re: Completed: C6 FRC Corvette

yes, i replied in the thread. i had the exact same problem and explained how i fixed it. yes, in all reality every part of this model is textured. as the paint reacted poorly with the plastic. the exhaust is crooked. one side didn't mate up to the chassis all that well, as stated in the body of the first post. hopefully i can tweak it a little later on. as the tips were just superglued on, i didn't have much a chance to mess with it.

Ahhh, I see that now. Sorry, I am a little dense sometimes.
What primer did you use under the duplicolor?

Re: Completed: C6 FRC Corvette

lol. it might be tomorrow before i get a chance...wed. but i'll get some day light shots. there are a few things that need attention, it needs polished out a little to remove the fingerprints from attaching the body. I also had trouble with the air box lid. has anyone else experienced this, almost like the motor sat a little too low, or the radiator/air box sat too high.
