Reverse Lights Inop

The reverse lights in my wife's 2002 Cav don't work. The fuse and bulbs appear o.k. It's a 5 speed and one of the posts mention a reverse switch at or near the shifter. It said to follow the wire. I removed the console and couldn't find anything like that. Can someone narrow it down further for me. A picture or diagram would be great. Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks.

it will push a switch that will lights the bulbs

if fuses and bulbs r ok ill say go for the switch
just look around the shifter and close to reverse

I have the same problem on my 2002 Cav. I too investigated by the shifter but didn't find a switch. I then went to a shop and asked where I could find the switch and the dude claimed that the switch is now located in the steering column and I would have to go to the dealer to get it fixed?!? He didn't know that I had a 5-speed though, so maybe that location is just on automatics?

I'm hoping that others have better input on the matter that can help us out.

I have the same problem on my 00 Sunfire. I have also checked the bulbs and fuses and everything is OK. I checked on the shifter and could not find anything similar to a switch.
I'm from Mexico City and posted a question in a local forum. I got a response from a guy saying that there is a piece that I should change (in spanish he said "Bulbo de reversa" which is not the same as a "reverse bulb", but I don't know the correct word in english).
I asked him for more information, I will let you know about any news.

Regards/Saludos!
