My brake joints squeak and I can't find where to oil! Please Help
I just picked up a 95 civic LX and the brakes squeak even when the car is off and not moving. It sounds like a joint that needs to be oiled but when I crawl underneith I can't see anything moving. I know it's not bad brake pads cause it sounds like it's coming from more towards the center of the car. Is there something I need to remove to get to the brake joints or am I missing something?

It does do it when I use the ebrake also. But the normal brakes do it too. It does it when not driving and when I'm driving down the street. Basically anytime I use the brakes or ebrake in my car, moving or not.

Re: Re: My brake joints squeak and I can't find where to oil! Please Help
Time for a brake inspection, while your there if the pads/shoes are still good do a brake service. Which should be done once a year.
Brakes create massive amounts of heat, and when 2 metals touch they corrode. This is why the back of pads should be lubed, also retainers, shims, & slides. Many people over look this and it is so simple to do. |
