fuel pump problem

my car wont start. I went to check and there is no fuel pressure. I dont hear the fuel pump come on. What might the problem be. I check the fuses that say is for the fuel pump. What i need is a wiring diagram to see which wire is power to the fuel pump. I have the back seat out, and i disconnected the connection to the fuel pump. Now i need to know which color the wire is so i could see if it is the pump or somehting else.

I wouldn't worry about wire color. Just check for voltage on the pins when the key is turned on. With enverything you've checked it pretty much has to be a pump issue or short in the wire. I'll put my money on the pump

Re: fuel pump problem

I own a 97 sebring coupe. A few weeks ago it developed starting problems. It cranks for a long time w/o starting. Some times it starts right up. Other times not. I got as far as determining its a fuel problem. So, I changed out the pump, changed the filter and still the problem persists. I'm looking for the fuel pump relay but cannot find it. Any ideas????

Re: fuel pump problem

You'll probably find the relay under the hood in the black power distribution box. If your problem is intermittent, I don't think it would be the relay. Solid state relays either work or they don't. Do you have proper fuel pressure when you turn the key( not crank)? The only other fuel issue that could cause a problem would be the pressure regulator or maybe bad gas.

Yep. It should work off of 12 volts.
