the car has white smoke coming out of it (alot). the engine was just replaced. im thinking its a cylinder or the head gasket from coolant, but i took it to the dealer and he said it needs a IAC valve.
anyone with comments... HELP. i dont want to pay 350.00 for a IACV! thats nutts! |

I agree with you. An IAC shouldn't make smoke. I'd check for a bad head gasket before I spent money on the IAC. Could be two different problems.

my bad, i failed to mention that the white smoke is coming from the tail pipe...im wondering if the IAC is pretty much the same in all fords and i can just borrow the one in my explorer to see if thats what it is.
hmmm.....this is frustrating |

I don't know if IAC are interchangeable but I don't think it would cause the smoke.
