1996 dodge ram running hot
my 1996 dodge ram 360 100k miles keeps running hot. it is'nt losing any water. it has a new belt,fan clutch,195 thermostat,flushed radiator and coolant. the radiator and water pump are only 1 year old. it will run up to about 240 degrees. there is pressure on the top hose and the heater blows hot. I am at my wits end any help is appreciated.

See if your radiator cap is maintaining it's proper pressure ( Auto store should be able), you may also want to check if the Radiator Core is blocked, and make sure you belt is routed correctly, and not causing the water pump to turn backwards

Also, if you've just replaced all those parts, you could have an air bubble in the system somewhere. Try parking the vehicle with the front end a foot or so higher than the rear. With the radiator cap off, start it up and let it get hot so that the thermostat cycles several times. You should see some trapped bubbles come out, and have to refill the radiator.
Don't forget to run the heater for awhile also (if it doesn't currently work, that is)

The earliest models (around 93) had around 200 HP.

Is the new fan clutch from Dodge or from a parts store? I just had the same problem with my '98. I bought a new fan clutch from O'Reileys since they only wanted $58 as opposed to the $300 the dealership wanted. The clutch would start out engaged, as it should, then would disengage after a few minutes - as it should. However, the clutch would never reengage no matter how hot the engine got. I tried three from them. By the way, Hayden makes the clutch I got from oreiley. I finally gave up on those folks and tried a different place - Napa. Now the napa part is also made by Hayden, but under a different brand name (can't remember the name), but ulimately, it gets the Napa brand stamped on the box, so the price is increased toe about $84 - still beats the dealer's price. Anyway, this one never disengages - at least not during the summer. I live in Texas, so this may be the correct behaviour for this time of year. For now it's not overheating, but I'll see how it works in the winter.
