'98 Blazer rear brake pads don't last long
Hi. Newbie here. Problem with the Blazer is the rear brake pads wear out in three months. This time the passenger side rotor is worn completely through on the piston side. One of the slide pins was sticky and rusty so I lubed it with high temp lube so it should be ok. The thing I dont' understand is how the pads release from the rotor when the brake pressure is released. I don't know if the pads are suppossed to float in the caliper or what. I am using the cheapest pads from AZ so maybe that is the problem. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

Sounds like you have a defective caliper.
