Help Needed Fast!!!!

95 3.1 Cutlass

Everything was fine, i was driving along and heard a loud rattle noise coming from the engine, i get out and look, and it looks like my tensioner pulley was wiggling a little.

i cut the car off to check it out and it felt tight, tried to start it back up and it will not start..... When you turn the key to crank it,... the belt wants to move but,,will not move.

Is this caused by the tensioner pulley?

The car is sitting in the BP parking lot. I bought just a pulley and put on and still no luck....

Could the entire assembly be bad?

Need help FAST!!!

RAY

Your loose belt must have not been turning the alternator enough to keep the battery charged and is now run down. Get some jumper cables and get a boost from another car.

Exactly!!!

I guess when i put the flywheel in, it probably was already cracked and wasn't able to see it.

I'll pull the motor and replace it... it should only take about 4 hrs and i should be rolling again but, it does suck.

Thanks jeremy, I'm a pretty much; learn by doing guy...

When i bougtt the car i had to put the motor in it.I pulled the motor and tranny at the same time. When i did the flywheel , i only pulled the motor and then only enough for it to clear the vehicle.....

Chiltons and these forums are good search engines for reference, labeling wires and putting bolts in ziplock bags is a good thing also...
