All B-Series engines need New mounts from HAsport.com or placracing.com, also Hondamotorsonline.com sells complete swaps! Everything u need!

I am going ZC/Turbo, u can use all of ur stock stuff except u will mostlikely need a new ECU!

Good luck!

Don't forget the D16z6 or D16y8. They're cheap, have 125hp, and VTEC. They also bolt right up, and you can even use the tranny in your car now. Also, it's a USDM engine so parts are a lot easier to get, and the aftermarket support is fairly large. The drawbacks are that if your going to use the p28 ECU, which is highly recommended, there is a lot of wiring which is a PITA, and the motors are only SOHC.

If you can afford it i'd say go with the b18c5, otherwise go with a b18c1, you will be happier believe me. If i had to do it over i would've gotten one of those instead of the b16a. Although the b16a is doing very well for me.

Well it also depends if he wants to go BOOST ( i hate turbo ) or ALL - MOTOR ( i worship anyone whos down with all motor ) so it just really depends. IF you're goin all motor then i'd get the b8c5 , but b16 is my favorite to tell you the truth. Its affordable and it has so much freakin potential man! aahh fuck it ...do whatever you like!:finger: d

B16 swap is easy and relatively cheap....

www.phhatwhippinCRX.20m.com for swap info

Also, same page for the ZC swap....

For boost, either B18a/b or B20z/b..... both are better choices and less expensive than either the B18c1 or B18c5....

B16a is still a very kickass motor...... but boosted B20z/b is where it's at....

Dam, thanks for all the info guys. that was fast work for one night.

I was thinking of going with the B18C5 cause a freind of mine can hook me up with the engine and trany for about $950 but i will still need to hunt down axles, mounts, ecu and all that.

anyone know if the over all weight is an issue though?? would somthing like this effect the handeling of the car?

are you sure on that price? i would get it in writing...and maybe check the engine out and see some papers before i bought it..you're talking about a $5000 engine for under a grand...seems kinda shady to me...if people could find b18c5s for 950 everyone would have one...even stolen..someone would have to be a jackass to sell it for 950!

i hardly would ever recomend a b18c5 swap. not unless you have a ton of money.
go with the b18c1..gsr engine. it will save you so much. then you can use the money to fix that up.
i went with the b16a. it came with the 160hp and zero torque. but hey, it cost $1100 shipped. then i used that extra $4000 that i didnt use to buy the b18c5, and i gave my b16a another 240hp 160lbs torque. just all motor my b16 out ranks a type r by almost 70hp 50lbs torque. and after all the work..i think i have enough money left over to buy another b16a.

so like i said. the only times i would recomend a b18c5 would be in a show car (due to rareity of the swap...as expensive as it is, i still think its a cool thing to see), or if you had a ton of money to spend. if i had say 6-7grand i would have gone with the type r too...but i didnt.

heh...a lot of work...and good prices. a lot of help from friends. basically i dont know much about engines..i know heads, and bolt-ons..i can custom a hella turbo kit..and i found that im good at finding where the engine bolts are..
but i ended up with some JE pistons, esp rods, headwork is mostly skunk2 and spoon sports...some hks cam gears. nice p&p, block was resleeved...and some other crap (i dont know i didnt touch the block, im only good with giving good heads...:licker: j/k)

we took a b16a from a 2000 civic si...stripped it..then put all new crap in it. except the ctr crankshaft was used (like 3500miles. or something)...
after that i slapped a turbo on it..i dont really use it high though...its set at 6-7psi..

it seems a lot more attainable that it is..people underestimate the b16s...i love them. i tried getting a b16b...but no go. but i guess there wouldnt have been much difference..just the serial number.
