what kind of boost could i run on a 99 si motor stock? i was thinking of just getting one instead of building a gsr hybrid out of a 5th gen. i was thinking of the greddy system? so how much power can i put down wihtout doing internal work?

I believe 10psi is the magic number of safe boost on stock internals.

greddy system boosts 6.5psi and puts about 210hp down.

10 sounds a little high. 7 to 8 would the max. After that if you'd like to some fuel and spark upgrades and tune carefully, you might able to get 10 psi by making it overly rich throughout.

Oops, sorry, I may have been a little unclear. When I said 10, I was refering to what the stock internals could handle, given the proper tuning , which would consist of all the fuel system upgrades and proper spark upgrades. A stand alone fuel management system like a Hondata or the AEM EMS would also help keep your engine/turbo combo effeciently tuned, but they may be a bit of overkill depending on what you are looking to do.

7-8 psi stock internals with minimal tuning...

10-12 psi running intercooled and a whole lotta additions and tuning!
