Dashboard Light Level

How bright is your dash at night?

Mine's pretty darn dark. I have black gauges with green glow, and I keep them turned all the way down. I disconnected the light in my glove compartment, and the none of the radio lights come on except the station readout. The only other thing is the clock. I like it dark.

My wife's ECHO has white faced gauges and I can only turn them down so much, then they go out entirely. I don't like that, 'cause I can't read anything on the dash.

So how bright do you keep yours?

I keep mine on the highest setting, but I have a old car, so it isn't to bright.

I have an old truck, its an 89 toyota, so there is only one setting for the dash lights and it is pretty low, so i think Silver S2000 would be proud of my ride.

I never really bothered to play with the level, but mine's really adjustable. I should try it low some night. I like it when all you can see of the inside of the car is the dash lights.

BTW...I wanna get some better colors for mine. The gauges have a green filter (screen) that white light shines through for green on black. What color light would I need to shine through the green in order to get blue, or purple or something?

I had a friend that just used a flashlight at night, which is not all that bad, but he would always seem to speed lol

About as fun as a kick in the nuts: My headlight switch is broken. Now I have to take apart my steering column! I had to drive home last night with a pen cap jammed in behind the lever to hold the highbeams on.

I keep mine on at their brightest setting. My gauge lights glow orange...so it's not annoying.

My car Has a light in the top of each gauge that shines down on to the gauges, not be hind them. I can turn them down but they are dim enough already.

I keep mine about mid range in my Mini. It's a black speedo with white lettering and a light green backlight that looks nice.

I have always hated red/orange gauges as they just annoy the hell out of me......too bad some of my favourite cars have them.
