A/C Blower Out
Hi. When we first got our van [used] the a/c, heater, everything worked fine. Then the a/c and recovery lights started flashing. A electric shop said someone had spilled pop in there [would make sense because the buttons are really sticky and take awhile to come out]. Then the fan moter would kind of just stop working for a few days, and then come back on. After awhile, speeds 1-4 wouldn't run at all, so if we wanted a/c [and in Kansas you do] we had to use speed 5 ALL the time. Well, the fan went out again, and hasn't come back on like it usually does. It's been several weeks without any air at all. I got the flashing lights fixed though. When I put the speed control on 1-4, the lights or doors don't even respond, as if I didn't have the switch on. Once it hits 5 the lights come on and some door opens to let air in, but since the fan is not running nothing comes in. If I turn on the a/c the compressor will run. I've talked to several people, and don't know what to do. Someone said its the blower, someone said its the panel, someone said its something up on the firewall. What do I need to do to check? Thanks

Update: Still not fixed, just got worse. Now no matter what position the switch is in, sometimes it will turn on by itself. Even if its in the OFF position!! I'll be driving along and all the sudden the compressor might kick in [if the A/C is on] or the little doors will start clicking [if recovery is off], and I have no way to turn the system off [other than the compressor]. Is this the panel or something else?

Re: A/C Blower Out
I had the same problem on my 2000 Voyager and I had to replace the panel. When I did everything worked fine. I think now that the Ac blower motor is going bad. Hopr you can find a panel at a junk yard because Ihad to buy one from a dealer for $440. Ouch!!. Doy you know where the blower motor is located and how hard is it to get too??

Also sometimes when the resistor goes it melts the connector which can cause other problems so the resistor and the connector would need to be replaced . |
