tune up 97 wrangler

do they sell a tune up kit for jeeps that someone that is not a mechanic can do

Yes, it's relatively easy (but frustrating the first time) to do your own tune up.

Depending on the year, you have spark plugs, cap and rotor, or only the plugs to worry about. Go to your local parts store, they'll be able to look things up and may offer to give you a hand if it's your first time.

Its actually quite easy to do a tune up. I jumped right in with a buddy helping me. I did the timing chain, which was a breeze.

Gapping plugs is easy
Installing plugs is easy
Buying new plug wire and installing is easy
The distributor is somewhat harder, but you can do it with some help from a buddy. Just make sure you know where that thing is pointing, and mark it.
Oil change is a breeze, I would recommend synthetic oil
belts are a breeze, just gotta remember the layout and where the tensioner is, I think most are on the PS pump (right upper side)
