Ban on 93 octain?!?!?!?

Effective today they put a ban on 93 octain in my state (Oklahoma).

This is terribly depressing. All my friends with boosted cars are pissed off.

Has this happened anywhere else yet?

That's ridiculous...post it in the Politics Forum (in the off topic section) to see what they have to say...I'd love to see what happens once people start f***ing up their motors that need 93.

Re: Ban on 93 octain?!?!?!?

There isn't a ban here, but a lot of gas stations stopped selling 93 octane in my area. Quite a few places stopped selling race gas too. Though that's not too big of a deal, because a company that sponsors a local track sells it still and will even deliver it to you at the track.

Re: Ban on 93 octain?!?!?!?

Yeah, its depressing, everytime I go to fill up at ANY station here there is a nice shiny brand new 91 sticker where the 93 used to be. So keep that in mind if you plan to drive through Okahoma in a car that needs 93.

I'm glad my car doesnt need 93, all the 03cobra guys must be PISSED.

Re: Ban on 93 octain?!?!?!?

What about Preludes? They also need premium 93 octane fuel. Although you can get away with 87 if your don't drive too hard. I have a feeling alot of stock cars could be in trouble. Does any one know why they banned it?

Why do preludes need 93? I've always assumed 91 worked for them...

here in MT they've never sold 93 far as I can remember... 87, 89 and 91, I usually get 89 octane for my crx.
