jstu got my civic!

i finally got my civic and have a few questions. its a 95 civic dx 2 coupe.
someone told me there is some additive people put to the oil in honda engines so they run better. is this true and what is it? Also, I come from a line of nissans so i dont know much about civics. i think the car might have wide body fenders, but im not sure. if you look at the car from the front, the front fenders stick out to the side pretty noticably, but the back do not. is this how the car comes? or were wide body fenders put on? also, is there any special maintenance for civics? thanx for your help guys, and it feels great to join the forums.

Re: jstu got my civic!

Welcome to our insanity.

No clue about the oil additive, never heard of anything (not that I can think of at the moment anyways). The front fenders do stick out more than the rear fenders, maybe an inch/inch and a half more. No special maintenance, same as every other 10yr old car. Yes you can use the gauge cluster from an EX, it's plug and play; prewired for a tach (there is a connector for it hanging behind the stock cluster).

Re: jstu got my civic!

if it is the dx special edition, it should have driver and passenger side aibags, power mirrors and AC. if yours has all that i've mentioned, you should also have power steering too...I have a 95 dx se and i've also replaced my dx cluster with an ex that has the tachometer in it...its very simple to replace.

I tried it before I got the swap done and didn't notice that much of a difference. I haven't bothered with it in the b16 yet.
