New rattling AC compressor

I just bought a new compressor for my 96 blazer. I had it installed at a seperate garage. I remember the compressor saying "requires oil". The compressor is rattling real loud from the the pulley area. Could it be the garage never added oil? I paid alot for the compressor and alot for the installation. I do not want to have to pay for either again. The compressor comes with a one year warrentee, but does not include installation cost. Therefore, it it is the garage's error, I want to start with the garage. But if it is the part supplier, I want to try to get them to cover the installation costs. Any help would be greatly appreciative.

Take it back to the shop that installed it and have them listen to it for a bit and get a diagnosis.

Shouldn't cost you a thing.
