Windshield wipers won't work

The wipers on my 2000 CR-V won't work in regular mode. In mist mode they work fine (when I pull down the handle). Fuse is good. Does anyone know anything else to check? Is there any way to check the switch short of replacing it? Any help greatly appreciated (and needed).

problem solved. culprit was the wiper switch and replaced with no problem at all. everything works great.
