Engine miss?

I have an engine problem , im not sure what it is , The idle is not consistant, and it seems to miss at all speeds, although its most noticeable at idle, Its an irregular miss, its not missing always at the same point, thats why i dont think its the plugs( i pulled the front bank , and they seemed ok)wires or coil packs, It also is not throwing a code, but it is damn annoying , Im thinking it could be vaccum, or mabey fuel related? ive run plenty of injector cleaner, and ive just replaced air filter, and cleaned the throttle body, to try to fix it , and its still doing it.........

BTW its a 96 GAGT 3.1L with just shy of 70,000 miles.

Re: Engine miss?

When did you change the wires on the car? Even though wires look good they could be bad internally and causing your car to miss. I would also clean the throttle body, IAC and the EGR passages. Carbon in these areas can do strange things.

Re: Engine miss?

It could be a vacuum leak. To find out.....

Get some VACUTEC. It uses nonflammable, nontoxic smoke to find problems and it works with the engine off. Basically, you hook it up to the vacuum system and turn it on. It pressurizes the vacuum circuits with smoke and makes it pretty obvious when you have a leak.

BTW. When was the last time you changed your air filer and fuel filter?
