Question Power locks and blink lights

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer that has problems that keep getting worse. It started with the door ajar light coming on and then going off after the engine was restarted. Also the fuel cap light would do the same thing. This happens randomly but not every day. A mouth later the remote door lock would only unload the the driver door and would not even click when I clicked the second time for the other doors. Also the power lock switch on the door would not work unless you wait about a minute and then would work only several times before you would have to to wait again. Two days ago when I opened the driver door the horn went beep beep for several minites and then just a tick tick sound sound from the pasanger rear wheel well. I unhooked the battery cable for about 10 minites and it stoped. Now I get a one tick in the back when I try to blow the horn. Today after I unlocked the doors I get the tick tick in the back wheel well and the dash lights, parking lights and dome lights blink without stoping. I unhooked the battery for a while and reconnect and still ticks and blinks.

I bought this Explorer at a Ford Dealer as a program vehicle and the only thing that was after market was a remote start which was on it when I got it. The remote start was a ford product. We took it off and it did not help.

This is definately not your cure all answer, but I would give the harness from under dash to your driver door a good visual inspection. With the locks being your common denominator, I would suspect a wire shorting to another. Pull your door panel if necessary and check all connections and if you have a meter available, check your driver side switches.

We had to replace the anti-thief controller, placed in the pannel behind the passanger side back wheel well. It fixed all a the problems

Thanks for the fix. Lots of people do not take the time to reply with an answer. Thanks again.
