4L60-e Transmission Shifting Problem
I got a 94 blazer 4.3, with the 4L60-e trans in it, thats what I was told. It shifts fine through first, second and third but when it gets to third it doesn't want to downshift. I am being told these trans are controlled by the computer and I could have a computer problem.
I checked to see what codes are in the computer and its giving me a code 67, code 81 and code 82. I looked them up and a code 81 is a Transmission code - QDM solenoid "A" (1st and 2nd gear) current error Code 82 is a Transmission code - QDM solenoid "B" (2nd and 3rd gear) current error I couldn't find what code 67 is and I have no idea what a QDM solenoid is. Anyone else had this problem and could tell me what it took to fix it. Im hopeing I dont need a trans rebuild but with my luck it won't be something simple. THANKS!!! |

Re: 4L60-e Transmission Shifting Problem
67 is for the torque convertor solenoid circuit fault.
Seems like you have an electrical problem. Check the wiring harness at the PCM and at the transmission.

Checked them both. didn't see no problem. Could this maybe be a ignition switch. Someone told me to check it but I can't see how that could be it.

Re: 4L60-e Transmission Shifting Problem
With a 1994, I doubt it.
It seems your transmission control is almost gone. Maybe the ECM ground needs cleaning.

Ok I have it set up to carry this blazer to the shop on monday. I messed with it a while today and am now suprised to see that my digital dash, air conditioning and radio have now stopped working. The radio could have went out (been having problems with it) but the gauge cluster and air were working fine the other day. I pulled the dash apart to check all the plugs again, the truck had been running about 10 minutes before and the ecm was so hot I couldn't lay my hand on it and keep it there long, is it supposed to get hot? Where is the ecm ground located and how do I get it out, I unplugged it but can't figure out how to get it out. I thought about trying a new one. Im assuming the shop will say they need to rebuild my trans but im afraid its doesn't need it and could be something simple. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!
