Can a Yugo beat a camaro? Yes, if its built right.

You have to compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges. What mods?

A stock R33 GTR would be a very close race with an LS1 in the 1/4. Get them on a road course and the GTR will eat its lunch.

Let me dig up some numbers for proof, I'll post them in a sec.

Meanwhile, Lets start with the basics.

Camaro: RWD GTR: AWD (ATTESSA being IMHO one of the best AWD systems in the world) ATTESSA monitors wheel spin and lateral accel. 10 times a second and can transfer up 50% (45%??) torque to the front wheels independently. The GTR has very good handeling on road courses and amazing results on the skidpad (a guy on SDU owns an R34 V-specII and he has recorded 1.1gs on his stack) I don't know the skidpad results on the 'maro but I dare say the GTR will out handle it any day of the week (in the rain too ). Stock GTRs hp is rated at 276, but many owners who have dynod there GTS say it is more around 300 or 310. I don't know what a SS Camaro's hp is but I'll look it up and post in a sec.

stock R33 can run a 12.7 1/4 mile and a stock R34 can run a 12.9 second 1/4 and a stock R32 can run a 13.2 second quarter mile. even though draggin is not their speciality. they can certainly still hold their own.
