Big Problem

Well heres were it started…I wanted to flush the coolant so I opened the lower radiator tube and all the coolant came out. Then I went to take off the bleed valve that is on the water housing near the tube that goes form the engine to the radiator ….it broke with all of the screw in it. I did fill the radiator with coolant …slowly. It ran good for like a week but then being very bored I wanted to take that broken screw out so what I did was I toke a drill and drilled hole in the middle of the screw and coolant came out…right as this happened I places a rubber cap on the valve it stopped the coolant from coming out but after about 5 mins with the engine on it popped out and coolant went every were. What can I do to fix this

Re: Big Problem

You need to use an extractor bit to remove the remnants of the valve. If you damage the threads while doing so you may have to re-tap the receiving end of the assembly; or failing that, using a short hex bolt to plug the remaining hole may work best. A rubber heat resistant washer/gasket under the bolt should seal any potential leaks. As a last resort, seal the outlet and drain through the hose when needed.
