high-speed ticket

the question is, what's the fastest you've ever been pulled over for?

i got nailed at 110 a couple months ago. i don't know how many of you are familiar with the emptiness that is Nevada, but you can drive for hundreds of miles and not pass a single car, and that's during the day. I was driving through the middle of nevada at 2am, just trying to get home. i knew this section of highway pretty well, it's a stretch of about 70 or 80 miles of perfectly straight and flat road. i wasn't too worried about cops and i knew i wouldn't see any other cars on the road, especially at that hour, but wouldn't you know it...an unmarked dodge durango. the cop was relatively cool about it. he didn't rip me a new one or anything, and he was nice enough to write the ticket for "only" 100mph, which actually saved me $200, but it was still a $407 ticket, and who knows what that'll do to my insurance. that's the last time i pull something like that

The Fastest I've ever been pulled over is 50 in a 35. I was running late from lunch back to work. He let me off.

Re: high-speed ticket

After 24 years of driving, with significant amounts of speeding, I have never had a speeding ticket. Ever.

IMO its because cops don't expect the junk I drive to actually go fast enough to speed.

Re: high-speed ticket

um 90+ in a 45, 107 in a 55, 115 in a 45 (racing), those are some of the higher ones I've gotten pulled over for. But still no tickets to date...except a $20 seatbelt ticket.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

this sounds ridiculous but, everyone knows it's like impossible to go 25MPH in a 25MPH zone. well I got pulled over for going 28MPH in a 25MPH zone. When I saw the cop flying up behind I thought what the hell did I do. I said I wasn't really speading. The cop was a complete A-hole. He said license and reg. I said what did I do. He said sir you were driving recklessly and way over the limit. Anyway it's supposed to be 50 dollars for the first 10 mph over the limit. I was going 3mph over the limit and he gave me a 200 dollar fine and my insurance went up 4 points. I said this is bullshit. So I went to court to try to fight it. The cop who stopped me showed up. He said to the judge I was being fair I could have givin him alot more. He lied and said I was driving to endanger, I wasn't wearing a seatbelt, I didn't have 2 hands on the steering wheel, I was weaving all over the road, my lights were on in the daytime, The list went on and on with complete nonsense. The judge said the cop was being more than fair. But he didn't list that on the ticket, it just said speeding 200 dollars. It should have said speeding 50 dollars. seatbelt 25 dollars. Well anyway the judge sided with the cop. So I had to pay 200 dollars and my insurance went up 4 points. Imagine that I had a perfect driving record I was a step 9 for 10 years. For going 3 mph over the limit. thats just ridiculous. I'd like people's input on this.

Re: high-speed ticket

100 in a 60 (km/h) is what I've been pulled over for. I've driven much quicker and gotten away with it. I should have gotten points, but he dropped in to 75 in a 60 so my fine was 50 bucks. though i also got a ticket for not having a front plate... $110!!! so im a greater threat to society for not having a plate than for going 40 over? bullpoop

Re: high-speed ticket

Well dyna, sorry to hear about that. That is absolutely absurd. But I don't know what else you can do now. Sounds like the cop was just an absolute prick, and you got screwed. Sorry, that really sucks!

On a side note, please don't 'hijack' other's threads in the future, you can just start a new one.
