torque converter lock up switch

I need help my car dies after you drive it for a bit. and once it dies you can start it up in neutral or park but once you put it in gear it dies again. im thinking its the torque converter lock up switch cause a family member had the same prblem on his vehicle. and if it is where can i locate it to unplug it?

What year is your car? If it is a mid 80's to early 90's then you can unplug the TCC solenoid by unplugging the plug on the top of the transmission. If it is a mid to late 90's and forward you can't unplug it and will have to take it to a repair shop to have it replaced. About a $400 job.
