Re: We are also getting a Ferrari F1 F2005

That's both good news and not so good. Of all the latest F1 Ferraris I want the F2002 and the F2004 in 1/20 or at least 1/24 scale, and for some reason these are the ones that kit manufacturers choose not to make.

I don't know what is up with Tamiya, and why they are not producing these great cars..

So far that is the -

550
430
and now the F1 2005 that are models I want to build, and they now might not be built from my fav supplier..

But I looked at the Revell F1 kits, and they have a few, and they just don't seem as good.. The Williams F1 for example.. Tamiya and Revell, which one would you buy?

Tamiya has not been making F1 cars for a while.

Hello

Well you don't need to tell us the Tamiya F1 cars are better than the Revell F1 cars and that 1:20 scale is better than 1:24. But since Tamiya seems to have stopped doing new 1:20 F1 subjects do we need to be happy with what we can get. The alternative is getting nothing! Or paying a fortune for a 1:20 resin lump.
I have recently built the Revell 1:24 2003GA and the result were better than I had hoped for. The nightmare about bad tires are solved many kits ago. And if SMS starts doing etch then things gets even better.

Re: We are also getting a Ferrari F1 F2005

Alex, have you made the investment in the Revell 1/12 F2002 and all the aftermarket bits needed to correct it?

Looks like the MP4/20 won't be available till the end of the year. Also interesting that Revell are issuing several F1 kits a year, while the big T is silent. Certainly puts the excuse of licensing being the issue to bed.

I like the Revell kits (although I haven't built one yet), 1/24th makes more sense to me as a scale. I guess each fill their niche, Tamiya 1/20th opened up with max detail, the Revell kits curbside, a study in aerodynamics. At least that would be a nice theory if Tamiya were still tooling new stuff. No big deal, there are plenty of old kits to enjoy.

No, I haven't. It's too much of an investment for me at the moment.
