Fault code scanner...

Anybody know if there is a code scanner for a 4.6 litre installed in a '94 Grand Marquis? It doesn't seem to be OBDII compliant, but I noticed there IS a connector in the engine compartment for "EEC test". The Haynes manual explains how to read the codes with a multi-meter, but I'm sure there must be an easier way......
