I have a 1994 Silverado 5.7 TBI just the other day I lost alot of power truck would barely go at times got it home and pops the hood and there was smoke or steam coming out of the breather when I took the breather cover off the rubber around the filter was really really soft it was so hot in there and when I pulled the dip stick to make sure I hadn't blown a head gasket the oil color was just fine no milky stuff in it but the hot steam or smoke was coming out of there to the dip stick its self was so hot that steam was coming from it all the way up. This truck has around 188,000 miles on it with an automatic trans. Thanks for the help in advance been reading the site for months now but just register tonight thanks guys again for your help. Mark

Re: Smoking from dip stick and through TBI
Make sure PCV is working properly and that the hose is not clogged.
