how long can factory shocks handle coilovers?

I just had coilovers installed in my '95 Accord, and I was just wondering if my factory shocks can handle the change in height, and for how long (if not forever). i think my car was lowered around 2" or so. if anyone can help let me know, thanks

t.c.

most factory shocks can't handle being lowered and can blow withing the first 6 months..

umay not even notice they are blown.. they will progressively get wortse, effecting handling and braking distance

my stock shocks lasted little over 2 years

i have had mine dropped 2.5 inches on my stock shocks since thanksgiving day and the front ones are starting to go right now. they are starting the make a creaking noise all the time now. when they start sounding like buckets of ice and water swishing around that means they are almost completely blown. i have the money for new shocks im just waiting for tom to email me back when hes done building my bect tecs.

i have no problems what so ever. i'm on OEM for 10 months now...it'll be 12 by the time i can afford Koni Specials. after buying my Accorn new in July 2K, a year later i installed the Neuspeeds. now it's been this long & i see no problems. it's been 6 months since last time i measured the drop, but i doubt it went any further. sitting at 1.3" drop, not the 1.8" that Neuspeed publishes.
