Angry Si's dead

ok so if yall dont remember i pick up a 91 crx si about a month ago and it had just gotten a head gasket cuz the last owner drove it with a blown one but even after tyhe head gasket it puked smoke when ever it was about 3000 rpm's. ok well yesterday will moving it to my new place my friend down shifted from 5th to 3rd going 60mph and it just died. we couldnt get it started for a wile but we went back today and it still wouldnt start but i didnt wanna leave an si on the road in that place so we push started iot and it was running rough and had a clicking sound coming from the block....it almost sounds like theres bits of the engine bouncing around inside so we turned it off and towed it home. now i had an 1988 bmw that sounded kinda the same and i was told it was the pistons bottom ending does anyone know if that could be it or is it something else?

Re: Si's dead

oh that dont sound good, i cant really help you but maybe u jumped a tooth on the timing belt or u did do some damage to the motor, might even have done both, jumped a tooth which caused a piston to hit a valve. I cant really say but im sorry that happened, i say dont let him drive again, though i am able to bring 3rd too 90mph, actually that was with my DX tranny and ive yet to see where i top out in each gear with my SI tranny. Maybe i should do a DX and SI combo tranny. HMMMMMMmmmmmmm
