Seafoam Question
Okay, I had bought some Seafoam a while back and wanted to use this for my car to clean all the carbon out.
But, unfortunately I guess I lost all the Seafoam I had bought from a local autopart store. While I was moving around I guess. Just as well, I came across a link and a forum that talked about putting Seafoam in high mileage cars. Granted my car isn't close to 70,000 miles yet, so I don't consider it to be "high mileage" but the engine does have a few issues. One issue that isn't resolved is a fuel pressure problem I believe and it's causing it to not start up right away like it use to. I'm not sure if it was the injectors I put in or not but it's a real pain in the butt. So my question is about the Seafoam. Is there any chance it could damage the engine? Is there any chance it could mess the fuel injectors up? Will it damage any O-rings or anything like some other forum was talking about? Curious...

Trying to fix my repairs now. So sad really. But with every replaced part, comes a better part!

I wouldn't think they would sell it if it would damage something.
I use the stuff every 3rd oil change or so. Grand Am is right at 70,000 miles and the Trans Am is at 29,200. Both get the treatment.

I used the stuff on my 79 firebird, and I dont even know how many miles are on that, but I know its a helluvalot, it didnt damage anything on that, so im sure your car would be safe..

Excellent, thanks a lot for the info.
I'll go out to buy some more and give it a go. Hopefully it'll run better after that. A little rough on the idle. Also, I might have to post this on another thread but can anyone tell me about the fuel pressure in a 1996 Trans Am. Maybe that is what is giving me the bad start ups and rough idle. How can this be fixed? Without help from expensive mechanic or dealer. Thanks!
