Question How much is too much????

Well as many of you know my car has some seized lugs on it and i've tried everything to get them off. my mechanic wants 300 to cut off the 3 axle studs and replace them. That to me seems a little extreme. However he has told me that the wheel will not be damaged during the process. Any suggestions at this point are greatly appreciated.

Re: How much is too much????

Did you even try the Gatorgrip? If that doesn't work you are going to have to buy some sockets and just shove them on the lug nuts and in the process probably ruin the threads of your lugs and studs. So you will probably need new ones.

I am not sure about the civic but on my integra once you get the lugs off you still have to seperate the hub to get the new lugs in wgich is going to add to the labor cost alot and it you can't do that then the mechanic may be the most convienent option.
