Exclamation 87 Silverado 1500 2wd - Starts and runs, but dies several minutes later

The truck has been running great. Recently replaced pcv, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Approx two days ago, it stuttered and almost died while accelerating through an intersection. Today, it started stalling at every intersection. Got it home, ran a search on here. Came up with several things to check. Went out and tried several of them. Egr moves freely, doesnt seem to leak there. Chased down one vacuum leak. Tried to pull codes but 'service engine' light wouldnt flash at all. Noticed while testing things that it will run fine for several minutes and then just die. Doesnt stutter or anything, it just quits. I was wanting to know if there is anything that could just kinda go out all at once and cause this kind of problem. It dies now no matter what kind of throttle is being applied.

Check that your battery cables are tight.

Yes, battery cables are tight. Also put in new coolant temperature sensor.

Also, a correction is that.... it'll stuter if left idling, however will die immediately if you give it gas, but only after you let off of the throttle.
Also has a realy strong odor. And after replacing fuel filter, starting getting hard starts.

I had been hoping the fuel pump wouldnt be the problem, and thus searching for other issues..... however, a new fuel pump and it runs like a top again.
