97 ford escort
My nephew has a 97 ford escort and we need to know if parts from a 96 escort wagon will interchange?

Re: 97 ford escort
I don't think so. The 96 was the last year for the 2nd generation escorts and the 97 is a 3rd generation escort. The 2nd generation Ford Escorts were from 91 to 96 and the 3rd generation Escorts were from 97 to 02. They are pretty much completely different cars.

i find one good way to find out if something is the same is have them look up the part you need at a parts store. look it up for both a 97 escort and a 96 escort and see if the same part is reccomended. ive done that repeatedly, checking if certain things will work, and they've never been annoyed with me. cheers, anthony |

Re: 97 ford escort
sixleggedinsect is right. I know for a fact that the radiators are the same. I think starters and alternators too. Also common things like bulbs and batteries. Go to your parts store and have them check the parts numbers. On a weekday when they aren't too busy. I didn't mean to carte blanche all escort parts.

Re: 97 ford escort
A lot of parts are the same, it just depends on the part. What parts are you thinking?
