rear view mirror reattachment

I have a 95 Sonoma and the rearview mirror fell off. I'm trying to reattach it but i can't figure out how to detach the button from the whole mirror assmebly, can this be done or do you have to put the whole mirror up at once, b/c i tried that before and it fell back off. Thanks for the help

Re: rear view mirror reattachment

Yes, you can get the metal tab out of the mirror base and you have to to reattach the mirror. I got mine out but accidentaly pulled one of the ball joints appart in the process so be careful.

Re: rear view mirror reattachment

Take it to a windshield shop. They usually do it for free...as a gimick to get your return service. If not, it shouldn't be more than a few $s
