Question 1998 Geo needs motor!!!

I have a 1998 Geo Metro sitting at my house with a blown motor-i think. My oldest son drove the car until it ran out of oil-(you know it made a noise and then quit!!!) Just checked the oil Dad. anyway my question is it possible to rebuild these motors and if so who carries rebuild kits? I have a younger son who just loves this car and plans on driving it next year. Also what aftermarket parts are available for this? Car is a hatchback. i really did not like the car at first but they grow on you when they sit in your garage for awhile!!
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1998 Geo needs motor!!!

Check eBay, or www.partsdinosaur.com. Do you have the 3 or 4 cylinder engine? You'll probably looking at replacing rod and crank bearings, rings might be worn down too. If you're looking for performance parts, check out 3techperformance He has a performance cam, head and cam gear available for the 3 cylinder engine, plus spark plug wires, stainless steel exhaust valves and underdrive pulleys. Alternatively, if you're looking to squeeze every mile out of your fuel, he can help you out too with his economy cam. I believe testing shows an improvement of 8 to 9 percent in fuel economy with the cam alone. Combine that with his cam gear, and you'd do even better. I'm not too sure about dressup parts, but body kits do come along on eBay once in a while. Check out www.teamswift.net and post some questions there, the people there should be able to help you out.
