Street legal turbo and engine

Hello,

I have about 6k saved up little bit more soon enough and i wanted to get a nice turbo and engine. I have a 1995 civic ex. I live in massachusetts and i just wanted to know, what would be the most powerful engine and best turbo i can get for under 7k that is street legal and can pass emissions?(doesnt include installation for price) Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You can get a B18C1(GSR) and a GReddy turbo kit for under $7,000. You could even get a B16A(SiR) easily for under $7k. Good luck on whatever you do.

what are you plans with the car? do you want to turbo the stock engine? or are you going to build it first?

if you just want to keep it stock then $6000 should be enough. you have a few options:
b18b + turbo (something small; T28)
or if you want vtec:
b16a +turbo (again something small)
b18c1 + turbo (small)

you dont want to boost them too much though stock. but if you want to build up the engine before the turbo then i think b16a would be the best. mainly because it costs less than the b18c1 and it still has the vtec. low torque, but if you want to turbo that doesnt matter. but for 6g you can get the engine, build up pretty much everything and still have money left for the turbo. but again i would stay small with the turbo unless you are going to race it.

Dude with 6 grand you can get your EX to run like 20 pounds of boost I would just build up the motor and get a nice turbo and run some high boost maybe with a little 30 shot of nos to help with the turbo spooling.
