Re: 1998 dodge caravan
You need a new Blower Motor Resistor. Not expensive and reasonably easy to change.

Re: 1998 dodge caravan
It is on the passenger side under the hood on the firewall. You will see a plate there about 2" X 6" mounted on the firewall with an electrical bundle of wires attached to it. Unplug the wires and the plate pulls out. There are no screws attaching it. It is attached by two spring clips which you have to press in with a screwdriver to release.
It is an unusual arrangement so you'll just have to fiddle with it till it comes out. On the other side of the plate is a number of large resistors which control the various fan speeds. It will help if you buy a new one before you do this and you will be able to see the spring arrangement I described above and see what the whole thing looks like. BTW, on my 98 T&C I had 5 years, I had to replace the resistor 3 times and the electrical plug on the firewall once!!! Good Luck. C.B. |
