car hesitates
I have a 1994 saturn sc2. When taking off it hesitates on me. I changed the plugs and wires and ect sensor. I replaced it with the plastic tip ect sensor. When driving on the highway i get up to about 70 mph and the engine light will come on. I took off the egr valve and pushed up the diaphram and it seems like it is not going up and down smoothly. I opened the intake and took a coat hanger and was getting out some black sludge. So while running i sprayed some carb choke cleaner in to help clean it out.I took off the egr selenoid (i think it was) im not sure were its located. After i put everything back on i pulled the pcm b fuse. Now the engine light is coming on at about 30 mph. I am getting a code 26 Quad driver. Someone told me its either canister purge, fan sensor or fuse, or the egr selenoid. Another person told me it could be 1 of 12 different things. I know i changed the ect sensor with the plastic tip and they recommend the new brass tip one. The dealer at saturn told me the ect wouldnt trip a 26 code. He said the egr valve wouldnt trip it either. I have been messing with this car for months (very frustrated)Just trying to get it running right. The gas gage seems to be going down a little quicker. Any help would be appriciated. The hotter the car gets the more it starts to hesitate.

http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/sho...p/photo/15885/ do you have a manual fan switch? the ECT should not set a code 26, the EGR can(more likely the solenoid then the EGR itself. carb cleaner works better with the engine off(with the engine on the cleaner get sucked right into the engine, with the engine off the cleaner can soak in, then start the engine so all the carbon gets burned off). determine if the gas gauge is reading acurately and/or your gas mileage is decreasing. your tank holds 12.8 gallions. for the next few fill ups, record the mileage and gallions filled. then divide miles by gallions filled to deterimine gas mileage. if the gauge is not acurate try this - http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44657
