what is the problem with starting

it seems that these cars have a problem starting. Does anyone know why. my daughters car will not start and i see a lot of people with this problem but I don't see very many answers.

Can you be more specific with the car not starting?

For starters, what year is the car from? What is the mileage on it? Does it have power? When you turn the key, what do you hear? Has battery maittance been done on the car. What about the fuses... have those been check?

Bought my 2002 Sebring convertible yesterday. Today it won't start.

No response when the key is in "start" or "run" positions. The lights and a/c fan work, and the the diagnostics that show up in the odometer window check out ok (except one says "no DTC"). Those diagnostic codes don't produce the same ones that I-Hack reviews, so I am not really sure what they mean.
I suspect some kind of lockout or immobilizer, like an anti-theft thing.
The indicator lights on the dash don't light when the key is turned, but they do light up during the diagnostic routine.

Any ideas?

my 1998 sebring does the same thing it only has 78,000 miles on it and it wont start, we replaced the distributor and the crank position sensor and it still wont start
