What would be the best way to find an exhaust leak (exhaust manifold area) in a 96 (3.1)? Thanks.

Re: How to Find
I would best leave that kind of work to a dedicated muffler shop. They have a special light that can pinpoint exhaust leaks.

Thanks Manny_boy, I've never heard of or seen such a tool (light). But I'd rather try to locate it and repair it myself. Thanks again.

I know this may sound CRAZY but is their a way (an additive) to cause an engine to smoke without doing any damage? It sure would make it easy to find a leak in the exhaust...I think? Please let me know if this a proven method that you have seen yourself. Thanks.

Re: How to Find
you can always try to old soapy water trick, just spray some soapy water on the exhaust parts and start it up and look for bubbles. there u go, but be advised it its soapy water, its like cleaning it to, so try to not to get it on electronics or moving parts, just to be sure. also once ur done you can just hose it off i assume
