Angry 5 Tickets in 2 weeks...is this bad...btw i'm 16

lol i'v had some shitty luck with cops thease past 2 weeks. First i was driving on the high way when my radar detector goes crazy and i see flashing blue lights behind me. The cops like "you know radar detctors are illigal in va right?" i was like "yeah" and he said "well then good, i'm writing you up for that and for your licence plate mounted on your dash AND curfue"....i was like wtf......so wat ever.

Five days later I'm driving to school and the road goes from 55 then to a small strip of 35 and then back to 55. Well sure enough theres a cop hiding like 2 feet past the speed limit sign and he gets me for 52 in a 35.

Well today, i was dropping off my girlfreind at driving school (kinda funny really) which is at a local high school. Well I pull out and punch it in first and reilzing that i was going to fast i shifted to 2nd and as I shifted blue lights...again...i was like crap....l NOT EVEN 30 SECONDS after i left i got pulled. This time I was just like..what I do now...jus hurry up and get on with it. But what was real funny was that the entire driveing class was outside of the school and they all witnessed me getting pulled over right as i left and the teacher must of said some along the lines of "thats not how your suppose to do it" lol cuz at one point they jus started laughing and I jus gave them the rock on sign. lol.....oh yea and im 16...my parents dont know about any of them....and i'm screewd lol. sorry jus had to vent.

oh and my girlfreind wasen't laughing with them....i'm gonna have to deal with her in a copule hours...oh god....

Maybe you should just obey the laws. The only one that sounds kinda shady is the speeding in a 35, but there are always 2 sides to every story. And just think, if you didnt try to show off you wouldnt have the last one. Sorry, but you get 0 sympathy.

Re: 5 Tickets in 2 weeks...is this bad...btw i'm 16

Agreed. There are road courses. There are drag strips. There are zero excuses to road race.

I drive sports cars for the style and the looks. Long story short, my first car was a 92 buick. I got hit by a semi because it was arse slow and couldn't move in time to avoid having the car totalled and me hospitalized. I decided that wouldn't happen again....

Besides, a VR4 is not a car for a 16 year old who can't keep it under control. Wanna sell it to me?

Eh, enough lecture. Ease up on the throttle. You knew the detector was illegal. E-Bay it. Don't give them more reasons to ticket you. It sounds like you have a really nice VR4. Don't lose it over something so silly. Just slow down a little.

well the first time i swear was entrapment..i mean there are NO "reduce speed ahead" signs and he was like right beside the speedlimit sign, but i guess the rest is my fualt, aside from the licence plate also...my inspector told me it would be fine as long as it was visible....ie: windsheld...guess not

Re: 5 Tickets in 2 weeks...is this bad...btw i'm 16

That's a great way to start out your license...why are you 16 and have a VR4?? I had an Oldsmobile...wtf! The license plate ticket should drop, radar is probably a fine, curfew is probably a fine, speeding ticket will be reduced, and possibly the second one too...unless the judge wants to teach you a lesson...which he probably will. Look forward to at least 4 points on your license $4-600 in fines and rising insurance costs on your VR4....wanna sell it to me?

Just an FYI on the plate, for you and any of your friends that say it is ok to put on the dash. Front plates are required to be mounted perpendicular to the ground, unobstructed, and viewable from the front of the vehicle. On the dash basicly violates all of those except the front viewable, and that is iffy. Also, if you get into an accident the plate on the dash could become a very deadly object.

Trust me. I normally dont cite people for a plate in the windshield, but it is not permanantly mounted as required by state code. Do your self a favor, bolt it to the front like everyone else, and KEEP YOUR FOOT OFF THE GO PEDAL!!!!

Re: 5 Tickets in 2 weeks...is this bad...btw i'm 16

Yeah, also some more advice. Hopefully all the tickets weren't in the same county so you wont be going in front of hte same judge everytime.

Try and get the speeding tickets reduced or dropped. Check out the traffic violations section under 'cars in general' to get some good advice for being in court.

Next time, put your radar detector under your seat, prior to pulling over. Don't be shady about it, because you don't want them seeing you and thinking you are hiding a gun or drugs...but don't leave it up on the dash...that's just asking for a ticket and zero leniency.

Also tell your parents. A) they will probably be a great help if one goes to court with you. B) if you are under their policy, they will find out anyway, and be even more pissed.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

youshouldnt have that car at 16 anyway. but its your choice and you got it, and look whats happened already.

and people ask "whats age got to do with it?" well here's a good example people

you gotta slow down buddy, take it easy and just cruise in the beautifull car you have. no need to prove anything, you have a vr4

16 having a VR4=bad idea. And you should try following the speed signs. Show off the car cruising cause if you speed people can't see the car lol. I drove a 97 SL when I was 16 and now I have 2 97s and planning on getting a 97 VR4 for my 19th BDay. I kinda feel for you.

Re: 5 Tickets in 2 weeks...is this bad...btw i'm 16

everything has already been said. but i like the 'whatever' attitude. that means you'll need to sell me your VR4 to pay for all your fines and insurance increases. so just let me know when and where to pick it up.

hey, i got a sweet modded 93 base, low miles. wanna trade?

16 and a VR4? My condolences to your parents in advance for when you wrap it around a tree.
