starts up with low rpm and oil light comes on when it hits low rpm, wont rev pass 2000

sorry about the long title!

here it goes... about 2 months ago i bought a 1990 plymouth laser rs turbo. This was at a auction so when i bought the car it sold as is, with no keys. I went to the car put a good battery in the car took out the ignition switch out of the back of the lock and cylinder and tried to start it up. It started up and would idle around 400 maybe 500 rpm. "lets jump ahead little" i ended up having to replace the fuel pump and starter whe i got it home because it would not start. I finally got the car starting up fine when it stop running again then i found out the fuel pressure regulator was broke replace and it still does the same thing

This is what it does when i start the car it will sometimes not stay running but when it does the rpm gauge is from 4 to 5 hundred and the car puts out light greyish almost invisble smoke and wont rev above 2000 rpm (tried pushing on the accelerator slow and wot it still wont rev over 2000) i took off the TB and the ISC is kinda dirty with carbon buildup but not alot and the back the the throttle plate is dirty, but not enough to keep it from staying closed or open. (The alternator is bad so i dont know if this would cause any thing with the rpm but anyway.)
!! please help, if i left out any important info u need please ask.!!

It could be a boost leak. Sounds like the ecu is detecting too much or too little air flow, this could be a leak or a sensor problem. Also if the wastegate was disconnected than it was boosting as much as the turbo could put out, this could have damaged other parts in the engine, if i were you i'd do a compression test and a boost leak test.

see i would not think it was a sensor because the cel was not on. I could be wrong but, i did so far a boost leak test on the main pipe from the turbo to the mas but that was it. also im going in the morning to get the ISC and the Alternator. Anymore advice will help and ill check more areas for boost leaks.
One more thing, i was looking over the egine again to see if i could find some more things wrong with it and i found a wire (black w\yellow stripe) not the wire but the connecter had some kind of burnt buildup on it with a metal piece coming out of the connector which was about a quarter inch long. This wire was located not right under it but close to the coolant fill up cap. thats about it for now< i will report back soon.

How would you do a boost leak before the turbo?

not a boost leak test, i just took off the hose from the turbo to the mas to see for major holes or cracks. i haven't had time to really do a timely boost leak test.

Oh I see now... Do a boost leak test, you can make you own pressurizer, get a 2" pvc cap a 2" rubber plumbing coupling and a tire stem there are specific instructions somewhere online i just don't remember right now. But you attach it to the turbo and use a compressor to pressurize the system and you can listen for leaks (if you have a boost gauge that would help too) But this should only take a few minutes once you make the thing to pressurize it.
