Unhappy Car bogging out when accelerator pressed

Yesterday the Sunfire would barely start for the wife. When she pressed the gas there was no power, would bog out and stall while idling.
When I got home from work lastnight I finally got it started but had the same symptoms at first but went away. I drove it around the block and everything seemed fine, so i took the car to work today. Well on the way home, it started bogging out on me and i barely made it to the driveway and now experiencing all the original symptoms again.

So far i have replaced the fuel filter, plugs and wires but nothing has worked yet. the car will usually start but wants to stall if I press the accelerator and idles very rough.= at first. The fuel pump is sounding a lot noisier than usual too.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Car bogging out when accelerator pressed

Your problem probably lies in the fuel pump. It sounds like it is going bad and not pumping the proper pressure. That is why you are experiencing engine bogging since when you ask for more fuel it is not available to you. Before replacing the fuel pump, replace the fuel pump relay. It is located under the hood in the power control center and if it is not working properly the fuel pump can cut off prematurely and cause a lack of fuel. If that doesn't work then the fuel pump is your next step.
